::: neoangin 2000 :::

January
First tour with NOVA HUTA and DJ Julius Nerdinger. While sitting on the train en route to Kassel, the first show during this tour, Neoangin writes the song „A Friendly Dog in an Unfriendly World“, which he would later call his musical self-portrat.

February
The legendary DJ John Peel discovers It’s so Easy to Fall Apart and overnight he starts looking for the band. Over the course of several weeks listeners call in and tell Peel bits and pieces about Neoangin.

April
By now Neoangin performs on a regular basis, but he sticks to his determination to create a completely new show very single time. In Hong Kong he jumps around on his keyboard. In Berlin he plays from the insides of a self-made skyscraper that he put on stage.

August
After only six months It’s so easy to Fall Apart is sold out and Neoangin decides to do another pressing. The Hamburg label Wonder Music gets interested in Neoangin. At the music fair Popkomm Jim meets with Wonder Music label head Jutta. They get along instantly and come to an agreement pretty soon. Jutta puts Neoangin under contract. It is not until later that Neoangin realizes that his independence has gone.

December
Now the production is supposed to be done with more ambition and more time. Pilot Pirx and Neoangin get together three times to do a complete recording of the album. The last details are recorded during the winter in a hotel room in Italy. A walk through a tunnel along the tracks from Riomaggiore to Corniglia provides Jim with the inspiration for the cover of Friendly Dog...
